My name is Shanna, and you have stumbled upon my blog! I’m a total noob in the blogging world, so please bear with me while I figure out what I’m doing.
After almost nine years as an ovo-lacto vegetarian, I closed my eyes, held my breath, and jumped feet-first into veganism October 1, 2008. To my surprise, my husband decided to go from eating vegetarian at home but omni out in the world to eating vegan 100% of the time too as a show of support. (Solidarity, baby!)
Going vegan has really inspired me to take a more active interest in what I eat. Obviously, my biggest concern is avoiding animal products, but I’ve also become much more aware of preservative and other chemicals in food. I’ve also discovered how much I love to cook, and that’s my primary motivation for starting this blog–to document my cooking experiments, even the ones that go horribly, horribly awry.
